Sales Director Heart Team EMEA

  • Build and implement the Heart Team (surgical) sales strategy for EMEA and coordinate activities in line with the 4 Abiomed principles
  • Develop country specific sales & clinical strategies to fulfill the assigned growth and patient/revenue goals, key focus is Germany
  • Develop individual employee career development & training plans for the Heart Team staff
  • Build strong relationships with KOLs (Heart Surgery, Heart Failure Cardiologists) in the assigned countries to introduce Abiomed's products and reinforce awareness & presence
  • Organize advisory boards and increase awareness at key cardiac societies (ISHLT, ESC-HF, DGTHG etc.)
  • Weekly presentation of business review and region forecast (Safes Force) to global leadership team
  • Develop country specific growth strategies; increase lmpella penetration/utilization in existing accounts, launch new accounts and expand platforms & indications
  • Establish effective communication with executives and managers across the company to ensure proper sensitivity to the needs of the commercial organization


  • BS or advanced degree, MBA would be a plus
  • 7-10 years of experience in the medical device cardiovascular space
  • 5 years of management experience of a field based commercial team
  • Track record of success in managing a sales organization in a fast growing environment
  • Existing strong relationships with KOLs (lnterventional Cardiology and Heart Surgeons) in France, preferably also in the UK and Benelux, or the ability to establish high level KOL relationships
  • Ability to inspire, lead and gain co-operation of others
  • Ability to negotiate and influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn and adapt in fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel, domestically and internationally {80%)
