As a Sr. Technical Project Manager (TPM) at Abiomed, you will have significant contribution to innovative software-based technologies that improve patient management and ease of use of our devices. you will use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You will work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You are equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.



  • Manages day-to-day project schedule, resourcing, risk trackers, schedules, and performance commitments in fulfilling program, project, or system objectives. 
  • Coordinates creation, maintenance, and tracking of project schedule and development plan 
  • Defines high level strategies and scenarios while identifying opportunities for increasing project effectiveness and efficiency 
  • Responsible for daily scrums, weekly meetings, minutes, presentations, and project updates 
  • Drives near term tasks and owns action tracking (cross functional and within the technical team) 
  • Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution of projects 
  • Coordinates identification, mitigation, and tracking of project risks 
  • Ensures that work performed on an assigned program meets the schedule, technical performance, customer requirements, and management requirements relative to technical performance in accordance with the product development process SOPs 
  • Promotes teamwork within the program. 



  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical field. 
  • Prior experience as software, biomedical, or project engineer or sufficient exposure to technical challenges  
  • 5+ years’ experience leading and executing the coordination of programs/projects and the delivery of products in engineering/R&D teams. 
  • Track record of meeting multiple simultaneous project objectives on time with limited resources.  
  • Willingness to face challenges head-on and embrace constructive friction between competing goals
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills  
  • Familiarity presenting on and explaining projects at all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to understand and comply with applicable FDA regulations and company operating procedures, processes, policies, and rules. 
  • Proficiency with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Proficiency with project management tools like MS Project, Wrike, Jira, Gitlab.
