Sr. Software Test Engineer II

We currently have the opportunity for a Senior Software Test Engineer with experience in manual and automated testing to join our growing and high-performing team! This key team member will be responsible for verifying and validating the performance-enhancing software used in ABIOMED’s family of products.  We are looking for a motivated and energetic self-starter, someone who has a ‘make it happen’ attitude who can thrive in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and execute test cases and protocols to verify software and algorithms.
  • Utilize expertise to further enhance the capabilities of the test automation framework, in partnership with Software Developers
  • In conjunction with DevOps Engineers, create new Jenkins jobs, test setup, and pipelines for continuous integration (CI) testing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and technicians to design and develop test fixtures
     

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in software and/or system testing (automated & manual testing).
  • Python programming experience
  • Experience designing fixtures & tools for test automation using  Labview or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with behavior-driven software development (BDD) & automation testing
  • Familiarity with Jira, Jenkins, Jama, and other DevOps applications
  • Working knowledge of using oscilloscope, multimeter, and other physical software debugging tools
  • Willingness & ability to travel 5% of the time to meet with customers (assess product performance in the field/gather user needs)
  • B.S. in computer science or electrical engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the medical device industry
  • Working knowledge of cardiovascular physiology
  • Advanced degree
