The Sr. SAP Business Analyst is a member of Abiomed's Global Enterprise Application team, and this new team member will specifically own responsibility for the Supply Chain Management (SCM) module(s). The Sr. SAP Business Analyst, SCM will support multiple business areas using the module by evaluating the business requirements of internal clients and then designing and building effective and workable solutions to meet their needs.  This is an important role on a growing international team, and a great chance for impact at one of the world's best performing medical device companies.


To help our business-users achieve their goals, it is essential that the Sr. SAP Business Analyst who joins our team have thorough knowledge of supply chain and financial processes, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the configuration needs associated with the SAP SCM module. This position will also provide ongoing maintenance and support to the SAP application, using best-practice processes and following Abiomed's project methodology, standards, and change-management procedure, so the ability to strong project-management abilities are also going to be crucial for maximum impact in this exciting role. 


Essential Functions:

  • Determine system design impact of business process changes and work with end users and technical team to implement business solutions
  • Provide day to day SAP configuration support to SAP modules, specifically SCM (MM, PP, PM, eWM, QM), but may also include other modules as needs dictate.
  • Lead or participate in systems project identification and feasibility, design, configuration, testing and implementation phases of projects
  • Effectively apply Abiomed’s software development methodology and enforce standard while maintaining change control procedures and documentation.
  • Participate on project teams to support upgrades and enhancements
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality of various SAP modules
  • Work closely with the business and IT technical staff to meet expected customer service levels
  • Provide technical support to the end users in the form of troubleshooting guidelines and modifications to the system after it has been delivered.
  • Provides training and knowledge transfer, for cross training purposes, to other members of the IT application team.


Required Qualifications

  • Fluency in the English Language (reading, speaking and writing)
  • At least 5 years’ experience with working with business users to support the SAP application in a technical capacity
  • Customer-centric approach, with the ability to express complex technical concepts in terms understandable to the business
  • Excellent Customer Service and communication skills
  • Technical aptitude; demonstrated ability to learn new systems and information quickly
  • Strong initiative, with the ability to work independently and as part of a great team
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with competing priorities
  • Experience training end-users
  • Good knowledge of supply chain and financial business processes
  • Bachelor's degree / post-baccalaureate degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems 
  • Experience in FDA regulated industry and familiarity with CFR 21 Part 11, GMP, SAS, and Sarbanes Oxley
