Global eWM Business Process Owner

Abiomed has recently launched eWM as part of our SAP S4 Hana migration.  The Global eWM Business Process Owner role is part of the Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain organization.  This individual will drive optimization and effectiveness of the S4 eWM architecture and integration into the business of the organization. 

The Strategic eWM leader must possess and develop thorough knowledge of the desired business processes, as well as a comprehensive understanding of best in class eWM configuration options and integration into respective SAP modules. This position will be a resource to the Global Mfg and Supply Chain team to drive excellence and stability as well as driving methodology, document standards and assure global alignment of the SAP/eWM processes.


Job Responsibilities: 


  • Responsible to ensure the SAP WM/EWM Workstream delivers best business practices
  • Leading and managing blueprint workshops, working with business function owners to understand business requirements and translating these into SAP configuration specifications for the SAP IT Team
  • Establishing SAP test plans and perform testing together with business owners
  • Develop training plans for all new applications and lead training initiatives for functional team
  • Provide point of escalation for WM/EWM Workstream level delivery issues
  • Function as the business user representative, interact with function owners and business process leaders/ SME’s to define optimal processes leveraging S4/eWM capability
  • Lead or participate in systems project identification and feasibility, design, configuration, testing and implementation phases of projects 
  • Participate on cross-functional project teams to support upgrades and enhancements
  • Partner with IT and business teams on 3rd party software integration with SAP such as Camstar, Kardex, enLabel, quality and process monitoring applications.
  • Define Master data management and map all fields to use in SAP/eWM algorithms
  • Answer end user and BPL/SME questions, train on new processes and tools, research and resolve problems, working with appropriate technical resources, if necessary.
  • Analyze data to identify problems or recommend preventive action, and research trouble shoot problems to determine root cause, walk end-users through resolution for problems


Key Skills/Experiences:

  • Demonstration of in-depth technical capabilities in SAP Supply Chain (WM / EWM) and possess strong business acumen in the Supply Chain & Logistics business.
  • 10+ years of design, develop, implement, testing IT systems based on SAP WM/EWM solutions.
  • At least 1 end to end SAP EWM implementation project, participation in multiple projects, including at least 2 years solution architect or project manager roles experience; including S/4 Hana system projects.
  • Understands integration interfaces with other modules like QM, SD, LE, MM, PM and PP
  • Development of multiple RF screens by communicating the business requirements to the Technical team effectively which keeps the process seamless and long-term sustainability. Understands scanning technologies and tools.
  • Experience with third party solution integration through Boomi or other integration platform for inventory management, example Kardex and label servers, example enLabel
  • Experience in FDA regulated industry and familiarity with CFR 21 Part 11, GMP, SAS, and Sarbanes Oxley a plus
  • Technical aptitude: ability to learn new systems and information quickly
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms understandable to the business, needs to be able to train the organization
  • Excellent Presentation, Communication & Inter-Personal skills
  • Capable to build relationships with the key business stakeholders to understand their needs
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with competing priorities
