The Critical Care Transport Trainer (CCTT) will serve as Abiomed’s training expert in the Critical-Care transport space. The CCTT will focus on the implementation, delivery, and monitoring of transport trainings to critical-care transportation customers throughout the US. The goal of the CCTT is to educate on safe and effective application of Abiomed’s Impella products during patient transport. The geography covered in this role will be Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and all states east.  

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: vibration, thermal, reliability magnetic and systems analyses to

  • Improve patient outcomes and drive patient growth through transport training opportunities
  • Streamline and standardize training for transportation companies/hospital-based transport programs, to include new personnel in the space and refresher training for those already trained
  • Create a certification program for transport nurses and medics
  • Provide training on Impella platform, as it relates to transporting a patient on support
  • Contribute to the design and improvement of the Transport Training materials and ensure all materials remain current
  • Host calls for transport personnel on updates and new information as needed
  • Provide product improvement feedback to our Product Development team on making Impella easier to use for transport
  • Development of hospital hub/spoke programs
  • Design and implementation of pre-hospital cardiogenic shock recognition program for early identification of cardiogenic shock
  • Participate in Medical Transport Tradeshows

Job Qualifications:

  • Reside in area of geographical coverage
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience of emergency medical flight support
  • CFRN, CTRN or FP-C preferred
  • Experience instructing and facilitating clinical education
  • Experience with the Impella Heart Pump, temporary and durable Mechanical Circulatory Support and ECMO Therapy
  • CVICU or Cath Lab background preferred
  • Experience with design and development of clinical education and training materials preferred
  • Medical device/Industry experience preferred
  • Must possess a passion for training and education and be recognized as a clinical expert within the Critical Care transport space
  • Must have strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-reliant; takes initiative; results-oriented, open minded and approachable
  • Ability to influence all levels of management and employees
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written)
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures
  • Requires a minimum of 50% travel
