Abiomed, a rapidly growing medical device company, is looking for a driven and results oriented ECMO Clinical Specialist. We are growing both our focus and device line-up in order to support Cardiac Surgeons and Heart Failure Cardiologists across the US. With our continued success, we are looking to expand our commercial team. The ECMO Clinical Specialist will be called upon to provide clinical support for new product evaluations, and train our field team and customers on these changes. You will also work closely with our Surgical Account Managers and clinical team who will be responsible for driving growth across the US. Through our Breethe® product portfolio you will enable physicians and staff to recover hearts and Lungs and save patients’ lives.


  • Train customers and internal stakeholders on the Breethe® product portfolio.
  • Assist in trouble shooting and customer enquiries as needed
  • Serve as a subject matter expert as related to ECMO at trade shows and corporate events
  • Contribute, review, and identify areas of improvement in the ongoing efforts to make the product instructions and support material a valuable resource tool
  • New Product Launches
  • Participate in clinical discussion and deep dive opportunities 
  • Improve patient outcomes and drive patient growth through training opportunities



  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience of clinical support with ECMO, MCS and/or Cardiac Surgery (licensed Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Surgical Physician’s Assistant, certified clinical perfusionist)
  • Medical device/ Industry experience preferred
  • Confidence, expertise and familiarity with ECMO, MCS, cardiac surgery and OR and ICU protocol is required
  • Experience and willingness to travel
  • Direct patient support experience required
  • Ability to drive patient outcomes required
  • Ability to travel up to 50% overnight required
  • Conduct duties and responsibilities in accordance with all state and federal laws and regulations governing the medical device industry required


  • Must be a Self-reliant; takes initiative; results-oriented, open minded and approachable
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively and frequently (oral and written)
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
